Do you love Award Show season?….I do! Love the dresses, the fashion, and oh….the awards! Of course the awards, right? No, really I just love seeing the dresses and all the beautiful people. The awards are just a bonus. Honestly these days I don’t have time to head to the movies so the award shows helpme to prioritize my netflix picks. I have to say in college I used to torture my roommates into watching the shows with me, now I just torture my husband. Luckily, he enjoys them…at least that’s what he tells me.
Since the Oscar’s are this weekend, how about a little Oscar Party themes to get us in the mood? Sound fun? Well here we go…

Is the weather getting cooler where you live? What about having a fall picnic? If you didn’t think of one yet then these photo’s will make you dream of having a fall picnic of your own very soon. I always think of picnic’s as a summer time thing but seeing these photo’s it makes me dream of having my own fall picnic. These photos are by Pobke Photography and are from a real family photo shoot for a client. Styled by White Room Events, it is dreamy and inviting, and makes me wish I were there. Of course, on a cool fall day. Now you take a look, I promise you’ll be thinking of a fall picnic of you own soon.
Ok, so what are you thinking…picnic?
Either way, enjoy and I hope these photo’s made you think warm and fuzzy thoughts like I did when I saw them.
Happy Fall Picnicking!
I love this time of the year! Halloween! And it will be here before we know it. I have been sharing some Kid Inspired Halloween tables over on the kids page this week and I thought it was only appropriate to share an “adult” themed Halloween party here on the mommy page. This party stopped me in my tracks as soon as I saw it. It comes from the ultra creative folks at Sweets Indeed Blog. Sweets Indeed is an amazing event planning company out of LA, California.
For this shoot, they wanted to create something that didn’t necessarily scream Halloween but had a subtle creepiness to it. They drew inspiration from the Victorian era and tapped into their inner haunted mansion. Think Disney and the Haunted Mansion ride but 100-times better.
After handcrafting their black lace backdrop and dessert stands, they decided on desserts for the more mature palette and made creme brulee in chocolate dishes, tiramisu, lavender ginger cookies, decorated lemon sugar cookies, monster-tini’s and an assortment of candy take away treats. The two-tiered cake was made by Rebecca Lehman of Heavenscent Cakes and became a focal point for the Sweet Station. They ended up loving the intricate detailing and the perfect color match, don’t you?
They designed and created all of the paper goods as part of the overall look of the dessert station. The favor boxes, mini treat cups, candy bar wrappers, and flavor tags were all put together by Sweets Indeed. Scrapbook paper, brads, and decorative items helped them complete the look. They even adorned the center of their candy bar wrappers with a sticker from the Martha Stewart Halloween collection.
They also crafted decorative masks and mustaches for the guests to disguise their true goulish identities with.
Be sure to check out more of the amazing details on Sweet Indeed’s Blog. An amazing party with no detail left uncovered.

I love a BBQ and I love burgers, so what about a burger bash? Since the theme across most the blog the past few days has been all about those last days of summer, I thought I would compile some BBQ party images and ideas for those last summer BBQ’s you have planned. Enjoy everyone!
Oh my, I’m in love! How could I not be in love with this beautiful pink dessert table designed by Jenna from Eat Drink Pretty? Gorgeous!! And can you believe she worked on this table to celebrate her one year blog anniversary! Wow! Amazing! Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to share with you all. And I hope you fall in love with each and every detail of this table as much as I did. There isn’t one thing that didn’t make me swoon….or drool.
From the pink peonies and tulips to the amazing variety of desserts…cupcakes, white chocolate raspberry tarts, cake pops, shortbread cookie sandwiches, and rock candy. Are you drooling yet?
And what about this amazing cake designed by Sweets Bakeshop in Minnesota. Beautiful! And again, just a note…I heart peonies! Especially pink peonies! They remind me of the wonderful South for some reason. Maybe because my mom has one in her garden and we would both wait in anticipation for it to bloom so we can bring them inside. Jenna used the amazing Just Bloomed for her flowers. If you love flowers you have to go and see this site…breathtaking!
Now I’m not much of a champagne lover but this glass with the raspberry makes me possibly change my mind.
Jenna I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love every aspect of this party! Just amazing and I hope you, my wonderful readers, love it too. Makes my mind race with ideas for my one year blog anniversary coming up in September. Wow! Crazy, it’s almost been one year!
