On Thursday my Nike Plus Sportsband arrived and I’m so excited it did! Now I can plug it in and it can download my runs! So exciting! Not only does the sportsband track the runs, but it can show my pace. I also can plug in how I felt the run was after I’m done. It’s amazing how little things like this makes me so happy!
On Saturday it was beautiful out so I decided to go for a run with the girls. It ended up being a 7 mile run and the whole time pushing a stoller with two munckins. And the crazy part is I could have kept going! So here is what my Nike Sportsband recorded on Saturday.
How cool is this!? Really? I’m just amazed how great this and the best part is I can look down during my run and see how many miles I’ve already tracked. I actually ran 7 miles and walked the last .35 miles as my cool down. As you can tell from the above graphic.
Ok, so since I got the new sportsband I started my challenge over again so my runs can actually be “tracked” and “recorded”. I should be going on to week 3, but instead I’m actually doing week 2 again. This week my goals are the following:
Monday – 5 miles
Tuesday – off
Wednesday – 3 miles
Thursday – 8 miles
Friday – Off
Saturday – 5 miles
Last week I spent a lot of time on the spinning bike since the weather was a little cool. I did a little bit of running on the treadmill and really didn’t get out onto the road until Saturday. Now that I have the sportsband I’m so excited for the training to really start. I’ll be back next week with the actuals.
I have always wanted to do a marathon. I know a weird thing to always want to do, but I’m weird like that. It’s just like I had always wanted to do a triathlon. I trained for several months and completed my first sprint triathalon in April 2006 and the next day I found out I was pregnant!! 4 weeks after that I found out I was pregnant with twins and my workout was restricted drastically. I went from working out all the time, sometimes twice a day, to nothing at all.
Since the girls have arrived my workouts have been a little more relaxed. Lot having to do with time. As most mom’s out there can relate to. Last week, one of my co-workers talked to me about training for a marathon and possibly running in next years Orlando Disney Marathon. It’s a little less then a year away so we both thought this would be enough time to train. I have been running a lot since the girls were born. Mostly because it’s a easy workout and the girls can come along with me since I have the wonderful jog stroller. I usually run about 15 to 20 miles a week. So it’s hard for me to think about running 26.2 miles! However, anything is possible if you put your mind to it….right??
Today I logged onto Nike and they had a section for running and programs to help you start your plan towards running a marathon. It’s a 25 week plan. You can format it to what level you are at when you start your training. I placed Intermediate 1 and my 1st week of training is:
WEEK ONE TRAINING:
Sunday 2/7 – 3 miles
Monday 2/8 – 2 miles
Tuesday 2/9 – 4 miles
Wednesday 2/10 - Off
Thursday 2/11 – Off
Friday 2/12 – 8 miles
Saturday 2/13 – Off
Each Sunday I will post the weeks training program that Nike has provided for me. I will also recap the previous week and the training that I accomplished and all the ups and downs. Join me for these next 25 weeks. I’m crossing my fingers I can do this all. I’ll also post along the way other health and fitness tips and finds that Ihappen to run across.
This section is completely devoted to mom’s out there. This is a place to find the latest things that I happen to stumble across and want to share with other mommies out there. Ranging from fashion and beauty to house and home. As a mommy myself I know how much we do. I’m hoping my posts will help you find things for you.
All About Mommy started in late Jan. 2010. Come back as I start to post more things in the other categories. And please leave comments and let me know what you think or if you have something to recommend. I love hearing from everyone.
