Tranquility Bay in Marathon Florida

03.1.11

This past weekend my husband and I had our first getaway as husband and wife since the arrival of our girls…which is over 3 years!  It was a well needed getaway/vacation for the both of us.  For our getaway we headed down to the beautiful Marathon Florida and stayed at the amazing Tranquility Bay Resort.

It was the perfect place to relax and look around and see nothing but beautiful things.

Tranquility Bay is one of the most beautiful resorts.  They offer 2 and 3 bedroom beach houses on the property.  Each with a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, porches to sit and take in the view, and so much more.  It’s a place where you wish you could stay forever.  It really is beautiful not only for a husband and wife getaway but it’s also great for families.  Plenty of activities for everyone.

We took advantage of the water activities one day taking the kayak and paddle board out on the water and exploring Marathon.  We had a lot of fun and got a great workout at the same time.  I also got a chance to go for a morning run.  The resort is very close to the old 7-mile bridge which is now a pedestrian bridge.  It was beautiful to run on the bridge and have pelicans flying by.  But mostly we just sat back and relaxed and enjoyed the resort.

All that it had to offer….

From the flowers surrounding the property to the property itself.

And at night we headed out and enjoyed the sunsets of Marathon Key from the beach of Tranquility Bay.

If you have the chance I highly recommend this fabulous resort.  And if you are looking for a place to eat on the island you have to eat at the Tranquility Bay restaurant Butterfly Cafe.  It was the best dinner we had on the island….and the Grouper is a must try!  It was fabulous!!  And if you are a Key Lime Pie fan my husband loved theirs.

As I write this post I’m secretly planning and hoping we can get back to this resort soon and maybe next time the girls can come along so we can all enjoy it together.  It really was amazing!!
