Because it’s summer and because I think camp and camping when summer is on the mind I have to shared this super cute “Camp” inspired birthday party. Desiree from Desiree Spinner Events created such a fun adventure for this birthday boy & his guests at “CAMP LUKE“, where they were greeted with bright green “explorer back packs” (complete with mini binoculars, compass & more!), enjoyed camping-style games, and watched a movie under the stars while chowing down on mini burgers, fries, and adorable camping-themed sugar cookies. There was even a cool custom tent (made by modifying a pop-up tent from Target) and clever “I Survived Camp Luke” tees for kids to take home!  Here is a look inside the party.

The colors were brown, dark green and light green and they kept everything in the color palette.   They had camping themed kids music playing and invited Miss Lori from Klub Kidz to come play camping themed games with the kids to wear them out!

Desiree ordered back packs from LL Bean in the spring when they were on sale and filled them with small camping goodies like an explorer hat, a copy of Curious George Goes Camping and binoculars.  When the kids arrived they gave them each an explorer backpack.

When they wound down to watch the movie (Bernstein Bears go Camping) we served them mini burgers and fries.  For the movie screening they had a projector and mini folding camping chairs that were on sale at Amazon and put pillows and blankets out.

And for dessert, cookies were brought out in a paper bag, along with fondant start topped cupcakes by Delicious Desserts.

What a great summer-time birthday party idea!

I recently ran across a super cute and adorable blog called live the fancy life.  Jessica is behind this super cute blog and she just welcomed a baby boy into her world.  Before the little guy arrived her and her husband (and family) worked very hard to create a nursery with a modern, clean and minimal design with neutral walls and lots of splashes of color throughout.

The bookshelf is one of my favorite aspects of the nursery and happens to be one of Jessica’s too.  Not only is it filled with 52 books, yes 52, it was built and painted by one of her co-workers!  Some of my favorite books fill the shelves too.  Dr. Seuss!

They designed the modern nursery with a color palette of grey, lime green, light blue, aqua and white. They wanted a room that was peaceful and serene, but that was still good for a child. They wanted to fill it with inspiration, color and interest but keep it simple and clean at the same time.

Jessica spent several hours putting the lanterns together, finding just the right height, balance and number of lanterns.  It’s another one of my favorite touches she added to her little guys nursery.

And this little zebra is just too cute!  I love him!

Jessica has a lot more photo’s of her modern nursery and where she found all the adorable things in this fabulous nursery.  So run over and see.  And Jessica, I hope your little guys loves his nursery now that he has arrived into this world.

I came across the most adorable baby announcements ever!  Have you heard of Hello Lucky!!??  They are a specialty letterpress printer and design studio and have been creating wedding invitations, greeting cards and personalized stationery since 2003.  The founders are sisters and best friends Eunice and Sabrina Moyle.  They co-founded Hello Lucky in 2003 with a vintage Vandercook press in Eunice’s garage.

They have several beautiful things but I absolutely adore the birth anouncements.  The Dino Birth Announcements (pictured above)are too cute!

But this sweet elephant announcement is also on my list of favorites.

And I love the little lion announcement!

What’s your favorite?  You have to go and see all of the Baby Announcement’s on Hello Lucky!

How cute are these?!  These Flip Book Invitations were designed by Heidi from My Paper Crane.  She designed these for her son’s 8th birthday which happened to be a costume party.  These would be super cute for a Halloween costume party too!!  Love them!

For these invitations, Heidi created a body/face template in photoshop and then just made various costumes/hats/hair for each costume. The last page in the little books was a solid page with all the party details. Then she used a comb binder to punch/bind them all.

Too fun! Right?  I will have to keep this in mind for Halloween!

Growing up I always wanted bunk beds.  Something so cool about them…at least I thought they were cool.  Of course my parents didn’t think they were so cool.  I was an only child so I didn’t have a brother or sister to fight the battle with them to get bunk beds either.  But still to this day I think they are so cool.  And so fun!  Especially some of these I found along the web.

You have the traditional bunk beds and you have the not so traditional.  I think of Aladdin when I see these.  What do you think?  Morocco?

But there there’s nothing wrong about the traditional bunk beds.  Like these…

And one of my favorite ideas for bunk beds that also function as storage but also is a space saver. Love these!!

What do you think?  Which is your favorite bunk bed room?
