Happy Easter!!

I have been away for awhile now and now that I’m back home I’m catching up on some of my favorite blogs.  I spotted this wonderful party on Hostess with the Mostess.  This super party was hosted by Bri and Amy of The Saavy Moms Guide. This party is a modern, creative, budget-friendly, and most of all…FUN!  And it was fun for everyone at the party.  It even included bunny tails and a bunny hop!

And can you believe you can throw this party for about $85?!  Well you can!  Bri and Amy got most of the decor at their local Dollar Tree and many of the serving pieces they already owned.  Because they are loving the silohuette theme they went with chocolate bunny silhouettes accented with green and white gingham and orange. They used artificial grass as the runner to give the table a carrot patch feel. They hung a silhouette bunny and orange pennant banner from twine to dress the green and white gingham backdrop. {Click here to download a template for the bunny silhouette.}

The brownie bunnies were cut using bunny shaped cookie cutters and placed on wooden dowels. They then created a picket fence display made from garden fencing, cut and zip tied to the size we needed. To create a natural earthy feel, we filled the fencing with craft shred purchased from Dollar Tree.

To incorporate healthy snacks they cut up carrot and celery sticks and placed them in plastic footed cups (also from Dollar Tree) filled with Ranch Dip and embellished with twine for a Savvy garnish.

To get the kids “hoppin party spirit” they filled a stand with coordinating orange and green party hats and blowers from Oh Goodie Designs. They also included bunny ears and mouths on sticks made by Frog Prince Paperie. Each play party friend was also given their own bunny tail made from cotton balls glued to twine and tied around their waste.

The party guests left with a cello bag that was filled with goldfish and tied with green & white gingham ribbon and a “Thanks for Hopping By” tag by Love the Day.”

Loving this super Easter inspired party and even better that you can throw this yourself for less than $85!!  Wow!  Thanks Bri and Amy for sharing this fabulous party and Hostess with the Mostess for always making me happy with super cute “real” parties.

All you Superhero’s out there you have to see this fabulous party party that Maureen (of talented party duo Anders Ruff) designed for her son.  It is absolutely fabulous and so, so, so fun!!  Here is just a few things that were at this party….

An array of oh so sweet treats from cake to cookies to cake pops….oh and chocolate covered oreos, candy, cupcakes, and so much more.  Not a sweet treat was missing from this party!

Maureen’s inspiration for her son’s birthday party came from Roy Lichtenstein Pop Art.  She wanted to create a superhero party not using the commercial superhero’s we see out there and added her own sweet twist.  The outcome was this fun and cute “Super Pierson” themed party.

I believe the graphics helped to mold the whole party.  Maureen designed a “Super P” graphic that would be repeated throughout the party.  She also brought in some of the “icons” of superheros and the traditional big city skyline.  Patterns used throughout the party and graphics were representative of old comic books and included halftone patterns, as well as classic “benday dots” (Lichtenstein’s trademark).

My very favorite was the amazing home Photo Booth for the children to have their pictures taken. They made a fake barbell weight (another DIY project) that the kids could pretend to be lifting over their heads. They also had hand-held signs that said “Boom” and “Pow”.  The backdrop was the polkadot/benday dot pattern that was repeated on the dessert table. Maureen also had a printed “conversation bubble” on the backdrop the said “Happy 3rd Birthday Super Pierson”.  I absolutely love this!!

Another fun idea and a great game for the kids at the party was the Pin the logo on the Super Pierson.  Maureen drew the pop art poster of Pierson (yes, folks…drew!  TALENT) and had it blown up in black and white – the children played “Pin the logo on Super Pierson” where they would try to stick their own super logo on top of Pierson’s super logo!  Fun, right?

Another look into all the fabulous details of this party.  Even down to the table where the kids got their own white gable lunch boxes that were embellished with a black/white city skyline label that were printed.  The skyline graphic had a callout bubble that said “Happy 3rd Birthday Super Pierson” and “Don’t Forget to eat your Vegetables”.  The children had markers at their table so they could color their lunch box.  Also attached was a pop art personalized luggage tag with their name that was printed and laminated. AMAZING!!

The favor table had bags of red/blue popcorn, Cookie pops (by The Cookie Jar) and bagged cookies, as well as cake truffle pops that were embellished with a “POP” party flag.  The treats were displayed in the white laquer boxes that were lined with black/white polka dot wrapping paper.  Cookies were bagged in cello bags and tied with a favor hangtag (from Anders Ruff printable package).
