Happy Friday everyone! Back with another POM recipe and the last of the week. This is a antioxidant packed smoothie not only from the pomegranate juice but the berries. You have not one, but three berries in this smoothie. There is raspberries, blueberries and blackberries; which are all packed with vitamins, minerals and health promoting properties. All three berries are also an incredible source of disease fighting and health promoting antioxidants. Antioxidants, phytochemicals and flavonoids are found in both the skin and seeds of the berries. The bright color, plump appearance and sweet taste make berries an ideal addition to smoothies or an afternoon snack. On top of all that, you add in the health benefits of the pomegranate juice and you have a healthy smoothie perfect to start your day. With the 21-day cleanse I’ve been telling you about this week I start and end my day with a smoothie. In my smoothies though I add in a little protein powder and flax seed meal. That’s the beauty of smoothies, you can add all kinds of yummy things into your smoothie to make it just the way you like it. Enjoy everyone and have a super weekend! POM Berry Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup frozen (or fresh) blackberries
1/2 cup POM 100% Pomegranate Juice
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or unsweetened coconut milk (milk of choice)
Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
Makes 1 smoothie.
