October has come and gone and boy was it a blur! Where did it go?….duh, I know….it went away too darn fast! Time escaped me this month with the crazy life of being a full time worker, a mom, a blogger, a wife, and a daughter. Everything in my life has been so busy and it was only October. I seriously don’t know what I’m going to do once Thanksgiving get’s here and then Christmas. I’ll go ahead and apologize in advance if I am missing in action. Then again I felt like I have been missing in action around the blog lately, but please know it’s not because I sit and day dream of my next blog post….because I do! It’s just the lack of time to sit in front of my computer and actually make those dreams a reality.
Since October was a blur and since I really did take a bunch of pictures from the month of festivities, I thought I would share them any way. Like a collage of happenings in October….or scenes of what went on in my life in October.
First was our adventures to the local pumpkin patch which in October in South Florida is still hot. We happen to catch a cold front on the day of our pumpkin patch adventures so long sleeves and shorts could be worn! A rare occurrence! After many photo stops and a lot of walking around, we left the pumpkin patch with 5 pumpkins! One for each of the us, plus another for carving.
Which brings me to the carving. We saved the carving for the weekend before Halloween. This was the first carving we have done since the girls were born. The girls were super excited about the carving but lost interest soon. There only request was the pumpkin be a happy pumpkin. So a happy pumpkin is what I carved. Wow! I forgot just how fun (and frustrating) carving a pumpkin could be. I can’t remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. I know it will be an ongoing tradition in our house too. The only thing I forgot is how quickly a pumpkin can rot. Our little friend didn’t even make it to Halloween before he became a chia pet! By mid week he has a furry eye and was no longer fun to look at. Luckily we had other pumpkins to make the front door festive and those had stickers on them for their faces.
Then there was Halloween! The whole month I had one of the girls pretty set on what she wanted to be for Halloween while the other one would change her mind every day or hour! Yes, even though I have twins they are TOTALLY different from one another in more ways than one. They may look alike, but let me tell you they are two different little ladies. This year one of the girls went as a owl, which I actually made….I told my husband it would be the last year I did that too. Last year I made their costumes too. This year I made one and half. Since I knew the owl would be difficult I talked one of the girls into being a black cat….a much easier costume to tackle. I know, I know, bad mom! But she loved being a black cat! And they loved wearing their costume to their school parade!
And last but not least we did one more thing in the month of October…..we got our family pictures taken professionally so we had something to put on our Christmas cards this year! Here is a little peak at the photo’s! My co-worker and friend took these as she is trying to grow her photography business. She is super duper talented. She actually works in the photo studio at my job so again…super talented! Her site is still in progress but stay tune if you are in South Florida and need a very talented lady to take your kids photo’s.
Ok, now do you see why October was a big blur to me? Where in the world did it go? Now we are onto November! And one of my very favorite times….Thanksgiving!
I can’t promise anything but I’ll try to be back here on the Random side of the blog to share more…..we’ll see. Ha!

Here is part 2 of my trip to Sedona.
Again, we stayed at the Enchantment Resort and it was amazing. Included at the resort is their spa called Miiamo….which by the way is amazing and offers different kinds of services from your typical spa. I actually took advantage of those different services and tried acupuncture for the first time and also at a reading of the moment which consisted of a palm reading, tarot cards, numerology, and the pendulum. Pretty amazing stuff from my reading! Highly recommend that service if you make your way to the Mii amo Spa.
On most evenings and early mornings it was common to see wild life along the property of the resort. We mostly saw deer and we also saw several baby deer. When calling home I would tell the girls that mommy saw baby deer and their reply was “you mean you saw Bambi”. So I should tell you all that I saw Bambi! And Bambi and her mom were ok with you coming within a close distance to capture a picture or two. Also during our visit we spotted what look to us as wild boar, but there in Sedona they call them a different name….which of course is escaping my mind right now. I didn’t have my camera at the time to capture a picture of that little critter. Maybe next time?
And lastly I had to include a picture of the flowers my wonderful husband sent to our room to wish me a happy birthday. It made our room smell amazing during our stay and luckily my cousin who came up to visit one day from Phoenix was able to take them back to her place to enjoy.
So there you have it folks….part 2 of my wonderful birthday trip to Sedona. Again if I haven’t said it enough….you must go!

A few weeks ago my mom treated me to the perfect birthday present….a spa getaway to Sedona, Arizona at the Enchantment Resort! It’s the first trip I’ve had with just my mom since I got married (which will be 7 years come this weekend)! Needless to say, this trip was well needed for the both of us! Not just for the mom and daughter time but also for the “me” time (for the both of us). No distractions… just beautiful scenery, relaxation, good company, and some hiking! And in my case some sleep! Haven’t been getting as much as I should these days so it was nice to get some much needed rest. It was the perfect getaway and it was hard for both of us to pack our bags at the end of our trip.
Here are a few pictures from our trip and later this week I’ll share photo’s of the Enchantment Resort, the amazing place we called home for 3 nights/4 days. If you ever need an getaway and are a loss for a relaxing location and love the West….you have to go here! You won’t regret it! Everything was amazing!
The above is one of my favorite images from the trip for some reason. I got up early the first morning of our trip and headed out to the main building in search of a cell phone signal to call home to talk to the girls. I ended up walking out on one of the top decks and this was my view. It was right before the sun was rising and I just sat there in amazement of the beauty of what was around me.
Here is mom and I (can you tell she’s my mom?) on our first full day and our first hike of the trip! It would be the first of many hikes we did on our trip! We learn a lot along the guided trail about the red rocks, the plant life, the history of Sedona, and even about the wildlife.
The red rocks are amazing. This picture was taken along our first hike.
And a couple more of mom and I….sorry, we don’t tend to get many pictures together so we took advantage of the photo opts along the hike.
The hike was a pretty rocky trip with climbs along the way. We climbed up out onto this rock for a mom and daughter photo moment.
And here are a couple more scenic photo’s from our trip.
Another one of my favorites for some reason. This was on another hike. Bright and early and the sun was just starting to make it’s appearance.
I have almost 200 pictures from my trip. I’m still trying to go through them all and edit some of them. I’ll be back with more details this week from my trip.

Last Friday marked the 1st day of Fall! Crazy to think Fall is here! I love Fall, but here in South Florida we don’t get much of Fall. Actually our winter’s are more like our Fall. The funniest thing is the girls learned about Fall at school last week. They came home last Thursday full of knowledge about Fall and all the things that Fall is “supposed” to bring….leaves change color, no sunshine (not sure about that one), leaves falling, piles of leaves to jump in, they get to wear boots, and Halloween. I laughed out loud as they explained all this to me in a very excited manner. I actually didn’t even know Friday was the 1st day of Fall until they came home with much excitement to tell me. But when Friday came, they didn’t understand why the sun was still out and the leaves weren’t changing colors and falling. They also didn’t understand why they couldn’t wear their boots to school. Having to explain that in Florida we don’t get Fall like other parts of the USA was a little hard. I was able to convince them that the sun shining was good because it makes us smile. They agreed the sun was necessary but the boots took a little more persuading. I tried to tell them that 90 degree weather wouldn’t be too much fun to wear boots in. They ended up scoring a pair of pink boots when the temperatures do drop though…thanks to their daddy.
As I was on Pinterest recently I came across the above checklist….and loved it! Some of the things will be hard to do in South Florida but I’m still going to use it as my checklist. What’s on your checklist for fall?
Happy Fall!!

I thought I would post an update on how everything is going on my CrossFit addiction. Last time I updated you I had just started and was already pretty much addicted and I would like to happily report that two months later…..I’m still addicted! I love it! I actually look forward to the next workout and what is to come. The fact that each day is different is freakin awesome. I walk in to my 5am class and look up at the board and that’s when I find out what my workout will be for that day. No “routine” workout here. And each workout pushes you to your own limits. Things you think you can’t do…you can! You would be surprised what you are capable of doing. All it takes is a little push. That’s when your coach/trainer comes into play. My 5am coach Crystal is awesome! She is always helping you along in the workouts and pushing you to try more. And did I mention she is pregnant! Yes, she as cute as can be at 8 months pregnant with her first little munchkin. She amazes me! She is still CrossFitting at 8 months too and looks great. If I ever have another one I surely hope I can look like her (and hopefully still be CrossFitting)!
Now so far in my CrossFit journey, I have met some of the benchmark CrossFit workouts, Angie and Nicole. Actually this week I met Nicole and she was a pretty tough workout since pull-ups are still something I have yet to master completely. For those who aren’t familiar with Nicole, it’s 20 minute AMRAP (as many as you can in the time allotted) of pull-ups and a 400m run. I had a little assistant with my pull-ups but hopefully the next time we try Nicole I’ll be a little further along and mastering pull-ups. Again, I’m having a great time and loving CrossFit! Now the 4:30am alarm clock wake ups are a little hard but it’s worth when 6am rolls around and I know I just got a great workout in!
The picture above is from my Thursday morning workout. It’s always more fun to have a post with an image. The workout consisted of “stations” of different workouts and you totaled up each “rep” you completed at each session. I finished the morning with 3, 4, 5, 5….those Air Dyne’s aren’t fun and adjusting the bike took a little more time away. Oh well!
Hopefully I can update you a little more on my WOD’s (Workouts of the Day).
