I’m one week down in my time in Asia for work and I have about a week and half to go.  This weekend me and my co-workers are in Hong Kong. Yesterday (my Saturday) we walked the streets of Hong Kong and also took a ferry to another part of Hong Kong.  There is amazing things here.  It really is a beautiful place. I was able to capture some of the scenes and wanted to share…

The above are little streets which have local vendors selling a variety of everything.  The streets are really interesting too because they have tiny stairs.  Which I would hate to walk at night.  It was hard enough walking down during the day.

This building is part of the Hong Kong Police Department.  I loved the architecture!

The harbour is one of my favorite aspects of Hong Kong.  It’s beautiful both during the day and at night.  During the day the water is busy with ferries transporting people to the different parts of Hong Kong and other little boats.  Some small and some large…and even cruise ships that pass by.  At night the buildings around the bay are lite up with colorful lights.  It’s really beautiful.

Another photo of the streets of Hong Kong.

And I couldn’t help but share a picture from one of my very favorite hotels in Hong Kong, and the very famous, Peninsula Hotel.  If you are ever in Hong Kong you either have to visit this beautiful hotel or stay at it.  Even if it’s for one night.  It’s a treat!

Ok, I’m off to spend my Sunday exploring a little more of Hong Kong.  Hope everyone back in the states is having a great weekend!!

A few weeks ago I headed to NYC for the Toy Show.  The trip was filled with a lot of work walking down aisle after aisle of the latest toys and games which was a lot of fun.  But also while in the city I got a chance to do a little site seeing, window shopping and of course a few stops at some fabulous bakeries.  Here’s a look into the sites I stopped at and spotted while in NYC.

While walking the streets we walked by Henri Bendel and one look at their fabulous window I fell in love!  Even from across the street…I was in love!  And it just so happens this was the day before Valentine’s Day.  Isn’t the window fabulous??

As me and one of my fabulous co-workers walked the streets we made it to Columbus Circle.

Which lead us to Bouchon Bakery which was recommended to me by some of my foodie friends and it was worth the visit but I was sad that they didn’t have any macaronsleft.  But we did try their muffins, chocolate bouchon, hot chocolate, and drooled over everything else.  If your ever in Columbus Circle stop inside the Time Warner buildingso you can try some of Bouchon’s fabulous treats.  The good thing is they are opening a Rockefeller location soon.

Another bakery stop was Magnolia Bakery.  The place was so busy for a cold Tuesday afternoon.  My co-worker and I braved the cold and walked several blocks for this stop….

And walking inside and smelling the sweet aroma of all things sweet made it worth it.  My coworker tried the German Chocolate Cupcake and Red Velvet and she loved the German Chocolate.  She actually shared a bite of the Red Velvet and I have to say I wasn’t a big fan.  I’m all about a traditional cream cheese frosting on a red velvet cupcake and this cupcake had a vanilla frosting.  I tried the flourless chocolate cake due to my new diet changes.  The few bites I had were delicious.

Everything was delicious even the adorable t-shirts and aprons!!

Even down to these super yummy cheesecakes.  Which my co-worker took the pumpkin cheesecake with a ginger snap crust in a to-go baggie.  Which makes me realize I need to ask her tomorrow if she ever tried it?!  Looked fabulous!!

I highly recommend a stop at Magnolia Bakery!

So here is a glimpse inside my trip to NYC.  I love the city!  I love it’s action and feeling, but I have to say I enjoyed returning home to 80 degree weather.  It was a bit cold on our last day!  Hope enjoyed a glimpse into my visit.

Bedhead!  One of my little munchkins woke up from her nap and when I walked in this is what I saw!  Bedhead!  The cutest and funniest bedhead ever.  She definitely got her mommies hair too!  What made it better was she was still a little on the sleepy side.  This is common because most the times she is woken up by the other crazy munchkins that thinks when she is up her sister must be too.  Actually she thinks the whole house should be awake too.  This morning when she woke up she went right into singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star then moved on to another song only after singing that one at the top of her lungs 5 times straight.  There are days where I miss sleeping in to 9 or 10am on a weekend.  But then again I always forget that the clock reads 7am when I walk in and see their smiling happy faces and of course their bedhead!!

One more thing…combing this bedhead isn’t fun for either mommy or the little one.  Once again, she has her mommies hair.  Thin, straight and does some crazy things.

Happy Easter!!

This morning as I walked into the girls room I wished them Happy Easter!  They smiled and then one of them says back to me “Happy Birthday, mommy!”  No, it’s not my birthday but she only understands birthday, but not Happy Easter!  It was the funniest and sweetest thing ever.  As they continue to grow I’m amazed what they say.  I can only imagine what is to come in the months and years to come.  As we got them ready and made our way downstairs they turned the corner and laid their eyes on their easter baskets.  I have to say it was really the best part of my morning.  They were so excited!  They went running to their baksets to see what was buried inside.  Made me wish Easter was every morning!

After breakfast, it was off to the park where we hid easter eggs.  We weren’t really sure how they would do since we haven’t really practice leading up to this big day, but wow!!  They were mini experts!  Running after every easter egg they could get their little hands on.  I think we all had a great time and in the end they both had a lot of eggs!  I’m already looking forward to next year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

Rain, Rain Go Away come again another day!  That’s what the girls were singing as they looked out the back door this morning.  I thought it was the cutest thing ever and I felt so sorry for them since they live for their outside morning playtime.  So what to do I asked?  As you can tell I grabbed parts of their Halloween costume to play “make believe” for a little bit.  Munchkin one was the pumpkin fairy while munchkin two was the buzz buzz fairy.

Can you see their headbands?  They had a great time with this game.  That is, until they looked out the door again and say the rain coming down.  Luckily the local play gym up the road had a morning class.  I think many people had the same idea.  It was a packed class, but it was well worth the 1 hour class.  The girls were able to burn off some energy.  And what to our surprise when we walked out the door of the gym?  But the sun trying to peak his shinning face out for us to see.  Unfortunately, it didn’t last long.  The gray skies rolled back in.

Tomorrow is my last day off from work so I’m hoping we will get a little more sunshine.  I guess we shouldn’t be complaining too much after the amazingly beautiful weekend we had.  Made me appreciate living in South Florida!  Well, keep your fingers crossed that tomorrow is a sunny day!  My mom arrives tomorrow for a nice visit so sunny weather would be great!
